Join us for an event of hope and remembrance!
Because the Monarch Butterfly is the symbol for hospice, representing a transformation
into a new form of "everlasting life," the Family Hospice Foundation could think of no better way to honor lost
loved ones than to hold a Memorial Butterfly release. The program will include a brief, nondenominational spiritual
dedication, following by the release of the butterflies. Music and light refreshments will be available. For each
gift of $25, participants will receive one Monarch butterfly, and may register one name to be read in the public ceremony.
An old Indian story says that if you whisper a wish to a captive butterfly and then release it, the
message will be sent to the "Great Spirit" and the wish will be granted. Participants will release their butterflies
into the sky sending private messages to loved ones. It will be a beautiful and touching event to witness.
This is a fundraising event for THE FAMILY HOSPICE FOUNDATION. The memorial event will be
held at Mountain View Memorial Park, 3016 Kalmia Ave. in Boulder, on Saturday, August 7th, from 10:00-11:30 a.m.
To buy a Monarch butterfly, print and mail the Butterfly Release Registration form (see Home page for PDF), or
call us at 303-440-0205. Deadline for mail-in is July 15th, 2010; a very limited quantity of Monarchs will be available
for sale on the day of the event.
